London 1948 Olympic Games tea towel featuring a colour reproduction of the iconic poster which promoted the 1948 Games of the XIV Olympiad. The event became known as the Austerity Games due to the economic climate and post-war rationing. No new sporting venues were built, and athletes were housed in existing accomodation instead of an Olympic Village. Such a contrast to the 2012 Games of the XXX Olympiad.
This is an official London 2012 product from the Olympic Museum Collection. The attached and removable shop card has a hologram on the reverse that displays the 2012 games logo and XXX Olympiad.
